Sunnybrook at a Glance

The Campus – Easy access for our parents

Sunnybrook Christian Academy is located in the heart of Northwest San Antonio and rests on 7 acres in the Lackland community surrounded by huge oak and old pecan trees. SCA campus is easily accessible from major highways such as Loop 410, Hwy 90, Hwy 151 and intersections like Potranco Rd. and Loop 1604. This gives parents quick access back to their work destinations without being late. Our campus environment is secure and safe and offers ample room for growth and future renovations and school additions.

Facilities Strengths – Our parents feel secure

SCA is a unique and quaint campus that provides the most cost effective, valued added, secure and safe Christian environment for the entire family. Our campus has one entry and one exit into the property and keeps all students a great distances from ongoing high trafficked intersections and from passerby’s. Approximately 30% of entire student body is made up of families that have two or more children in our schools. Most families have expressed how much of a blessing it is to know that not only are their children being trained in the ways of God but also how safe our educational environment is for everyone on campus.

Elementary Building – Simple

Our Elementary Building is the oldest building on the property and offers a distinctive flavor to the campus because it represents the very beginnings of the ministry and school. Over the years many of our Alumni have revisited the campus to look at the old rooms. These modest and historic class rooms offer an experience for every new class that grows up in them. Although many of our neighboring public school rooms are newer in their presentation, the Godly lessons and insight to the God’s Word make up for the difference in eye appeal.

Middle School & High School Building- Traditional

Our Middle School and High School classes are held in the same building but are interestingly worlds apart. The first floor of our two story building is the home of 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Our second floor is the home for all our growing and challenging high schoolers. Strict guidelines keep these two groups apart the entire day to allow proper relational boundaries. We committed to renovating and expanding the middle school and high school facilities so that our students experience the very best we can offer them in their academic and ministry growth.

The Sanctuary – A spiritual shelter for the students

Most educational facilities would not consider the sanctuary one it’s strengths but as Christians we know how important it is to allow time for prayer, praising and worshiping the Lord our God. Throughout the school year all of our students will face many battles that become sometimes impossible to deal with. The spiritual battle that rages daily is no respecter of persons and wars against our children more now than ever before. The level of moral decay and perverseness that has invaded our homes through television, radio and the movie industry is unprecedented.

The sanctuary is a place where your children will hear the “Word of God,” in song, dance and drama. It is the place the students know they can go to for prayer, for encouragement and at times, conviction. Many of our students have found the peace that Jesus talks about during their weekly chapel services and have confessed that their burdens have been lifted as a result of Worshiping God in the Sanctuary. If we think the battle is tough for adults, imagine the assault on the children. Most of them feel helpless and hopeless during trying times in their own families; the sanctuary is a place of shelter from the storms of life.

Uniforms

It is our conviction that the physical appearance of our students is an essential element in the education and upbringing of the total child. Proper grooming must be taught along with other rules concerning manners and morals. We insist upon Christian modesty and neatness in dress and general appearance. School uniforms and P.E. uniforms are to be worn daily.

Meals

Breakfast and lunch are served daily
